Back in1986 a new band was formed; whose intention it was and still is, to bring back lost fantasy to all mankind. There was a female singer named Jutta, guitarist Jimmy, who is the main songwriter and musical director, guitarist Gunnar, bass man Tatch and drummer Bubi. These musicians called their band SEDJAGO.
1986

Rehearsing started and worked well. After
a while Jimmy changed the name into ZED YAGO, because of worldwide release.
Zed Yago got famous and went on different tours with great success.
In 1987 the first album called “ From over yonder “ had
been released and became record of the month in the German “ Metal
Hammer” magazine.
Afterwards the band sold more than 30.000 copies in the first month
in Germany and the major labels realised that there’s a new band
on the market, which is getting more and more interesting. In 1988 Zed Yago signed up a major deal with BMG. The band recorded
their second album named “ Pilgrimage “ and it went in the
charts where it lasted for a long time. Zed Yago has shot a video in
England with director Julian Doyle, who also did the movie “ Time
Bandits” and “ Monty Python”. It had airplay on every
rock station worldwide. “ Pilgrimage “ went up to No. 2
in the Japanese Metal Charts. The band went on tour as support for Deep
Purple and played the biggest venues through the whole country. Afterwards
they toured as support for Wasp through Great Britain. Back at home
they’ve been invited to play at the birthday party of the German
Metal Hammer in Dortmund, and so they did.
1989

At the end of 1989 the problems inside the band grew bigger and bigger,
and it finalised with the leaving of drummer Bubi and guitarist Gunnar.
Bubi did a solo album, which went really good. Zed Yago tried again
with a new member. 1990 Jutta left ZED YAGO and started her own carrier.
So they took a break for a few years.
In-between the following years guitarist Jimmy met a lady called Yvonne,
who wanted to learn to play guitar. During these lessons Jimmy found
out that this lady is a brilliant singer! So he started again writing
new songs. He never lost contact to drummer Bubi, and so,
1997

back
in 1997 they started again. Zed Yago played a few shows on big festivals
with Motörhead and Manowar. In this year bass man Tatch left the
band.
Jimmy and Yvonne wrote more and more excellent songs, and always thought
about a new Zed Yago. Then, at the end of 2002, the old record company
SPV Steamhammer released the “ Best of ZED YAGO “ album.
Jimmy met Hansi Kecker, a brilliant Hammond player and keyboarder. This
line-up started rehearsing and they found out that this is perfect now.
2004

An
outstanding female singer with unbelievable power and perfect performance,
a harmonic working pair of guitar and keys and an absolutely tight rhythm
section is the best combination Zed Yago ever had!
